Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
✅ Procurement Manager role in Spendesk Procurement
✅ Admin or App installation permissions in your Slack workspace
✅ Access to the correct Slack workspace where you want to receive notifications
⚠️ Note: If you cannot access the Procurement module at procurement.spendesk.com, please contact your Account Manager to enable it for your organization.
Step 1: Access the Integrations Page
Log in to Spendesk Procurement at
https://procurement.spendesk.comIn the left sidebar, click Settings
Select Integrations from the settings menu
Find the Slack Integration card
Step 2: Connect Your Slack Workspace
On the Slack Integration card, click the "Connect Slack" button
You will be redirected to Slack's authorization page
Verify the workspace: Ensure the correct Slack workspace is displayed at the top-right corner
Review the permissions the Okko app is requesting:

Click "Allow" to authorize the integration
💡 Tip: These permissions allow Procurement to match your Slack account with your Spendesk account and send you personalized notifications.
Step 3: Verify the Integration
In Procurement
Return to Settings → Integrations
The Slack integration should now show as "Connected"
You should see your Slack workspace name displayed
In Slack
Open your Slack workspace
In the left sidebar, scroll to the "Apps" section
You should see the "Okko" app listed
Click on Okko to open the App Home
You'll see three tabs: Home, Messages, and About
Step 4: Test the Integration
To ensure notifications are working:
In Procurement, create a new request or assign a task to yourself
Within a few seconds, you should receive a Slack notification from the Okko bot
The notification will appear in your direct messages with Okko
✅ Success! You're now set up to receive Procurement notifications in Slack.
What Notifications Will You Receive?
Once connected, you'll receive Slack notifications for:
📋 New tasks assigned to you
✅ Task status updates (approved, rejected, completed)
💬 Mentions in request comments
🔔 Task reminders for pending approvals
📝 Request lifecycle events (created, approved, rejected)

Disconnecting the Integration
If you need to disconnect Slack:

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I receive notifications in Slack channels instead of direct messages?
Currently, all Procurement notifications are sent as direct messages from the Okko bot. Channel notifications are not supported at this time.
Can I customize which notifications I receive in Slack?
Notification preferences are managed in your Procurement user settings, not in Slack. You can control which types of notifications you receive, but they will be sent via both email and Slack (if connected).
Will disconnecting Slack affect my email notifications?
No. Email and Slack notifications are independent. Disconnecting Slack will only stop Slack notifications; email notifications will continue as configured.
Can multiple users connect the same Slack workspace?
Yes. Once one Procurement Manager connects a Slack workspace, all users in that Procurement organization who have matching Slack accounts will receive personalized notifications. Individual users don't need to connect separately.
What happens if I change my Slack email?
If your Slack email changes and no longer matches your Procurement email, you will stop receiving notifications. Ensure both accounts use the same email address.
