How virtual cards ownership works
In Spendesk, virtual card ownership is closely tied to specific user accounts for enhanced tracking, receipt management, and auditing purposes. Because of this, transferring ownership of a virtual card is generally not possible. Each card—whether virtual or physical—is permanently associated with the user who requested it.
Recurring Card Exception
Ownership of recurring virtual cards can be transferred to another user. However, this exception does not apply to VISA GBP cards generated through Adyen, which remain non-transferable under all circumstances.
What to Do If Someone Else Needs Access to a Virtual Card (Single-Use or Multi-Usage)?
If a colleague or another team member needs access to a virtual card, the following steps should be followed:
Delete the Existing Card: First, cancel or delete the existing virtual card from Spendesk.
Submit a New Card Request: Create a new request under the name of the colleague who requires the card.
This approach ensures that the new owner has full access and accountability while maintaining Spendesk's tracking and management standards. If you experience unforeseen issues or require further assistance in managing virtual card ownership, please contact Spendesk support for guidance.
