In this article, you will learn all about 3DS and why it can happen not to receive a confirmation text.
What is 3DS?
The 3DS protocol is a standard which helps to reduce fraud and provide extra security to your online payments.
Setting up 3DS with your Spendesk card
To ensure that you can use 3DS with your Spendesk card:
- log in to your Spendesk account.
- Click on your avatar in the top-right hand corner.
- Select Edit your profile.
- From there, please add a valid cellphone number to your profile.

If you haven't added a phone number yet, we may prompt you to add a valid cellphone to your Spendesk profile:
Using 3DS with your Spendesk card
If you make an online purchase with your Spendesk card, you may have to go through the 3DS security protocol to authenticate that you are the cardholder. To do so, you will receive a text message (SMS) with a unique code. You will need to input this code in form similar to this one:
Code not received
Sometimes it can happen that the code takes a bit of time to reach you, or that you don't receive it.
To start with, you can start by clicking on "Send a new code".
If it's not getting to you but you need to make a purchase urgently, you can replace your phone number with a colleague's (or close one's), via the interface (on your My Profilepage, when clicking on your avatar in the top right hand corner).
If this doesn't work, you should try to turn off and on your phone. This'll reboot the connexion between you and your network provider.
If the code still hasn't reached your phone, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with :
- ✆ your mobile network provider's name (example: Vodafone, EE)
- ⛳️ Geographic location.
👉🏻 Some network providers are not supported yet by our partner in charge of sending confirmation codes. This is why we will do our best once we have its name to support it.
🚨 Make sure your phone number is correct in your Avatar > My profile page before you try a payment with 3DS security. Otherwise, you will not be able to receive the code.
Code received late
Turning your phone off and on again should do the trick. If this happens every time, do not hesitate to send a message to our Support team. We will do our best to contact our partner and investigate.
