Before you start

  • Download the Spendesk app on the App Store or Play Store, or search "Spendesk" directly in your store.

  • Use the same login method your company uses on the desktop version (email and password, Google, Microsoft, or SAML SSO).

  • Have access to your company email on your phone. Spendesk may send a confirmation link there to register your device.

  • No specific role or plan is required. Any active Spendesk user can log in to the mobile app.

Login method

When to use it

Email and password

Your company uses standard Spendesk credentials.

Google

Your company uses Google Workspace to log in to Spendesk.

Microsoft

Your company uses Microsoft 365 to log in to Spendesk.

SAML SSO

Your company has set up single sign-on (SSO) with its own identity provider.

🔒 Access: Spendesk applies Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) on mobile. After you log in, you must set up a security code or biometric authentication to confirm payments and unlock the app.

Log in with email and password

  1. Open the Spendesk app.

  2. Enter the email address associated with your account.

  3. Enter your password.

  4. Click Sign In under the Spendesk logo.

Log in with Google

  1. Open the Spendesk app.

  2. Click Sign in with Google.

  3. Click Continue if prompted to authorize Spendesk to use your Google account.

  4. Select the Google (Gmail) account you want to use.

  5. Enter your Google password if prompted.

Log in with Microsoft

  1. Open the Spendesk app.

  2. Click Sign in with Microsoft.

  3. Click Continue if prompted to authorize Spendesk to use your Microsoft account.

  4. Enter your Spendesk or Microsoft email address if prompted.

  5. Enter your Microsoft password.

Log in with SAML SSO

  1. Open the Spendesk app.

  2. Click Sign in with SAML SSO.

  3. Enter your work email address.

  4. Follow your company's identity provider prompts to complete the login.

Enter your security code or use biometrics

The first time you log in on a device, Spendesk asks you to set up a 4-digit security code. This is separate from your device's own unlock code.

  1. Choose a 4-digit security code when prompted.

  2. Confirm the code to finish enrolling your device.

  3. If your device supports it, enable biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint) when prompted for faster unlocking.

You must re-enter this code, or use biometrics, every time you close the app or after 60 seconds of inactivity.

💡 Tip: The number pad may show digits in a random order each time for security. This is expected behavior, not an error.

To change your security code from within the app:

  1. Go to Profile & settings.

  2. Click Security options.

  3. Click Security code.

  4. Confirm that you want to log out and reset your code.

  5. Log back in to create a new security code.

Expected result

You are logged in to the Spendesk mobile app and can view your card, submit expenses, and approve requests according to your role.

Troubleshooting

Symptom: Login fails even with the correct email and password.
Cause: Cached app data or an outdated password.
Resolution: Clear the app cache or reinstall the app. If the issue continues, reset your password from the desktop login page under "Forgot password?".

Symptom: Google or Microsoft sign-in fails or loops back to the login screen.
Cause: The wrong account is signed in on your device, or your Spendesk account isn't linked to that SSO method.
Resolution: Sign out of the incorrect account on your device, then retry with the correct Google or Microsoft account. Contact your Account Owner or Administrator if your account isn't linked to SSO.

Symptom: You forgot your 4-digit security code.
Cause: The code wasn't saved or was changed recently.
Resolution: Click "Code forgotten?" on the code entry screen. You'll be logged out automatically. Log back in and create a new security code.

⚠️ Warning: Entering an invalid security code 3 times in a row blocks app access for 1 hour. Support cannot lift this block early. Use "Code forgotten?" before your third attempt to avoid being locked out.

Symptom: Device registration keeps failing.
Cause: Corrupted local app data.
Resolution: Uninstall the Spendesk app, then reinstall it and enroll the device again.

Symptom: The confirmation email link to register your device doesn't open the app.
Cause: Your email app blocks deep links, or you opened the email on a computer instead of your phone.
Resolution: Open the confirmation email directly on your phone and tap the link there. If it still doesn't work, allow deep links in your email app settings, or validate the login from your browser and request the code by SMS instead.

Symptom: You can't log in and think your account was deleted or disabled.
Cause: An Account Owner or Administrator deactivated your account.
Resolution: Contact your Account Owner or Administrator to confirm your account status and request reactivation if needed.
