Request for medical certificate

To receive Social Security benefits in European Union countries, with the exception of the European Health Insurance Card (available from your Social Security center), you may be asked to provide a Medical Assistance Attestation. This may be required to obtain an entry visa for certain countries. This certificate covers the cardholder and any accompanying persons for private or business travel, in accordance with the conditions specified in the leaflet for Spendesk cards with assistance cover. To obtain an assistance certificate immediately, please log on to the website dedicated to insurance certificates: https://www.aig.com/mastercard/fr or via the Spendesk website, "Assistance and Insurance" section, using the first 6 digits of your card number.

The difference between assistance and insurance

Assistance is provided as soon as the event occurs, when the cardholder contacts the insurer.

Insurance covers the financial consequences of damage suffered by cardholders. It includes purchase benefits covering vehicle rentals or purchases made with the Spendesk card.

Changing the level of benefits

It is not possible to modify the level of coverage of the benefits selected by Spendesk.

Beneficiaries of these benefits

The cardholder and the persons listed in the definition of insured(s) or beneficiary(ies) in your Spendesk card information leaflet.

Coverage and duration

You are covered from the day you subscribe to your Spendesk card and for the duration of its validity. Cover ceases if the card is not renewed, expires or is withdrawn or blocked by Spendesk. Cover applies for the first 90 days of travel outside your country of residence. Beyond 90 days, you must take out additional insurance with an assistance company.

Main assistance benefits

Your Spendesk card covers you in the event of illness or accident during a stay outside your country of residence (up to 90 days).

This ranges from additional reimbursement of medical expenses incurred abroad, to repatriation in the event of illness and/or accident as determined by our doctors, including early return in the event of unforeseen hospitalization or death of a family member.

Your card also covers you with services for professionals, such as sending business documents abroad or sending a replacement employee. For full details of the associated services, please consult the information leaflet for your Spendesk card.

Travel

Pay for my trip with my card to benefit from assistance services

It is sufficient to hold a valid card at the time of travel to be covered by assistance, according to the terms and conditions described in your Spendesk card's information leaflet. You should also bring the social security documents required for your destination. However, to benefit from the insurance cover provided by your Spendesk card, you must have paid for your trip with it (plane delays, cancellations, etc.).

If you do not have a physical card at the time of your trip, your trip must have been paid for with a Spendesk virtual card in your name in order to benefit from the assistance guarantees linked to your card.

Duration of cover

Assistance coverage applies for the first 90 days of your trip outside your country of residence. Beyond this period, you will need to take out additional insurance with an assistance company.

Prerequisites for coverage

All you need to be covered by assistance is a valid Spendesk card at the time of travel.

Worldwide coverage

Cover applies worldwide, outside the insured's place of residence, except in excluded countries. Certain benefits are subject to territorial limitations, which are mentioned in the description of the benefits concerned. More generally, benefits are not available in countries at war, in a state of notorious instability, or suffering from civil unrest, acts of terrorism or natural disasters.

If you have any doubts, please contact us before your departure to find out whether the situation in the country where you are staying is covered by these exclusions.

Travel documents

When traveling, don't forget to bring all documents proving your identity, as well as any other documents you may need for your trip: passport, national identity card, residence permit, entry visa, return visa, etc., and check their validity dates. When traveling to a European Union country, you'll need a European Health Insurance Card to receive Social Security benefits. This document is available from your Social Security office.

If you are traveling to a country outside the European Union, please contact your Social Security center to find out what you need to do before you leave.

All other documents required to prove your situation may be requested by our service after your trip, so there's no need to take them with you when you travel.

Expenses incurred by the user

No expenses incurred without the agreement of the insurance/assistance provider will be reimbursed (except in cases of force majeure).
