Offline payments are transactions processed asynchronously.
The transaction is done without a 3DS confirmation or pin entered, and reconciled manually or automatically on the POS/console.
Most of the time, offline payments' amounts are due to the merchant and charged 'late': this excludes fraud cases.
These limits are actually defined at chip level. This has been defined with VISA.

This number corresponds to the number of consecutive contactless card payment that can be made without entering the PIN. Reaching the limit should lead to ask for the PIN to be entered & doing so will reset to 0 the number of contactless payments.
